STEP ONE: Throw one ball in a smooth arc from hand to hand...

Hold your hands at waist level, a single ball in your right hand. Imagine a box sitting with its bottom corners where your hands are and its top about six inches above your head. Keep your eye on the center of the top of the box. When you make your first throw (from your right hand), the ball should "hit" the top of the box half way between the center point and the outside corner of the box... at the point that I marked "a" in the animated graphic... and drop into your left hand.

The arc of your second throw (from your left hand) is a mirror image of the first throw. It should "hit" the top of the box at point "b".

Resist the temptation to bring your hand up to make the catch. Let the ball drop into your hand at waist level.

Practice keeping the height of each throw and the shape of the arc consistent. Each throw goes just to the top of the box and the ball stays inside the box.

When your throws are starting to feel consistent and controlled, challenge yourself to go on to STEP TWO... one throw from each hand...
